Painting: Anatomy Study of the Skull

This is my first full-scale drawing for my effort toward understanding human structure and anatomy. The reference came from a basic shading tutorial (for an apple) at CGSociety, which recommended the skull as the next subject to try.

Sketch: Apple

This was a quick assignment done for my multimedia class. Since we only had one class period (and no tablet!), I picked something simple - an apple.

Painting: Natalie Portman Portrait

I wanted to practice faces, so this seemed like a good place to start. The photo reference I used was taken by Andrew Southam, and found on this site. It took somewhere around nine hours to paint.

Painting: In the Wake of Eternity

"For centuries, she has wandered the lands - a lone spirit without purpose or direction. But beneath the cold exterior lies a monstrous temper, and once incurred, her wrath can be devastating. Though decades may pass without incident, she does not hesitate to pass judgement upon those she feels deserve it. No one knows what the people of this region did to provoke her fury, and it matters little. What was once a proud city now lies in ruins, and it will not be the last."

It started with the idea of a futuristic city in ruins, and worked its way from there. Hope you like it :)

Painting: Self Portrait

This is for one of the final projects of my art history class. I was surprised - the figures actually look like me, or pretty close. Anyway, I love the baroque period, so this is my tribute to all the Caravaggisti, with a touch of Dali. Enjoy :)

Painting: Into the River

This is my first digital painting. I learned a lot working on it, and I hope to do more in the future :) And by the way, it's not her blood that she's washing away...

Vectors: Christmas 2005

These are the vectors I made to put on Christmas cards for my family and my boyfriend. I started with the penguin, and then did the other four. I put them all in one image to display here ^.^

Vector: Padme in the Throne Room Gown

My first vector ^.^ I used photoshop cs2, and an image from Padme's Wardrobe. I know there are mistakes, but I'm really happy with it overall.

Medusa

Did this one for my boyfriend, hehe. It was really fun to do :) I think I used 8 colors, or something like that.

In the Eye of the Beholder

This was just an experiment from awhile back using white charcoal pencils on black linen paper. I like how it turned out, but I doubt she'll ever be finished. I think my favorite part is the eyelashes...
